Have this speaker that was originaly an Altec 420A that has been reconed with after market parts , wtf-5527 cone ,16 ohm voice coil ,DCR 7.5 ohm .I know it could always be reconed as a 420A but does it have the potential to be reconed as a 416 or would be throwing good money after bad .
Have a pair of 811's and 806A's and looking for suitable woofers for them .

I would contact Great Plains Audio to be sure, but my understanding is they will recone to 416 specs. Might as well have the magnets recharged while you are at it.
